Ingredients:

 • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
 • 3 cloves garlic, minced
 • 1 small onion, finely diced
 • 2 tbsp olive oil
 • 1 tsp dried oregano
 • 1 tsp dried basil
 • ½ tsp salt
 • ¼ tsp black pepper
 • 1 tbsp sugar (optional)


Instructions:

 1. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
 2. Add diced onion and cook until translucent.
 3. Stir in minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
 4. Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and sugar (if using).
 5. Simmer uncovered for 20–30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
 6. Serve over pasta or use as a base for pizza or meatballs.
